Co-PI on National Geographic grant to study bird migration

A team of six researchers from the US, Brazil, Peru, and Colombia, led by Dr. Lisa Davenport, have just been awarded a National Geographic grant to study the migration of Orinoco Geese, Skimmers, and Large-billed Terns. The grant, titled "Mapping Waterbird Migrations In Tropical South America" will fund satellite transmitters to follow the migrations of these three species in the three countries and unveil their migration patterns. I will be leading the Colombia component and tracking birds starting in February 2019 in Casanare, Colombia. Read more about the grant here!
